La Balette Collioure Restaurant Review
La Balette Collioure Restaurant Review
La Balette is undoubtedly one of Collioure’s most famous restaurants and really needs no introduction.
It’s Michelin-starred and led by famous Chef Laurent Lemal, it’s possible they will receive a two star Michelin star award one day – on top of their One Star.
Certainly, Lemal is ambitious to make an even greater culinary mark on Collioure and indeed French food culture.
He has added more staff, upgraded the kitchen recently and has changed the menus completely, as well as expanded his famous tasting menus, so that there’s a tasting menu that stretches as long as 16 courses.
So, yes, this is very much an event restaurant – a destination that you book often weeks or months in advance – and great to mark an occasion or if you are just a very serious foodie and want to see a chef pushing the culinary boundaries.
La Belette’s menu changes frequently and you never what you will get, but they’ve recently feature a dizzy array of ingredients including Brussels sprouts, beetroot, root vegetables, sea urchin, mullet, scallops, bergamot, yuzu and Buddha’s hand.
