Le Paco Collioure Restaurant Review

Le Paco Restaurant Review

Le Paco Restaurant Collioure Entrance

Tucked away as it is, I think Le Paco needs a little more recognition as a great little Franco-Spanish tapas bar with a very warm and welcoming team, so here goes!

Also, before we start, pro tip - Le Paco has a private room that can be privately reserved for up to 17 people, which is hard to find in Collioure.

On to the food, here are some highlights:

'Paleta Ibérique' - delicately sliced melt in the mouth Iberian ham that promises a melt-in-the-mouth with good pan con tomate (not all pan con tomates are born the same – there are some awful pan con tomates – fortunately, Le Paco gets it right).

'Couteaux à la planxa' - razor clams grilled to perfection, offer a delicate texture and are a testament to the restaurant's ability to source the freshest of coastal ingredients.

'Gambas à la planxa'—plump and juicy prawns, with a slight char from the grill, a harmonious blend of simplicity and flavour.

'Chorizo grillé' and 'Magret de canard à la planxa' – the obligatory chorizo and duck are done very well.

'Tartare de St. Jacques' -  finely sliced scallops stands out as a refreshing and elegant option, whilst the 'Duo d'Anchois de Collioure et Boquerones' - local anchovies in vinegar and oil - speaks to the traditional palate, balancing brininess with a subtle acidity.

'Moelleux au chocolat', with its gooey heart of chocolate, is very naughty but nice, whilst the 'Crème Catalane', a regional twist on the classic crème brûlée, offers a creamy custard beneath a brittle caramelized sugar top.

But, Le Paco is not just about the food – it’s about the joy of sharing a meal that reflects the warmth and spirit of Collioure and Le Paco offers that in spades.
