La Fregate Collioure Restaurant Review
La Fregate Collioure Restaurant Review
One of the oldest and most central hotels in Collioure, La Fregate was founded in 1923 and then later became a fish restaurant on the ground floor.
La Fregate is one of the oldest and most established restaurants in Collioure and it shows – it’s an assured effort and a very reliable bet – despite being on the main thoroughfare into Collioure.
La Frégate's tapas menu is a nice way start, with plates priced at €7.50 each, these small plates are perfect for sharing and offer a snapshot of the region's rich culinary heritage.
Diners can enjoy authentic Anchois Boquerones de Collioure from local producers Maison Desclaux and Roques or dive into the crispy delight of Accras de Morue.
Other highlights include Gambas Grillées à la Plancha, Pan con Tomate Serrano, and Beignets de Courgette.
Rarely for Collioure, they also have wide range of salads for the more health conscious with ingredients like heirloom tomatoes fresh seafood, and artisan cheeses. The Salade Terre et Mer at €25.00 is a standout featuring a mix of gambas, serrano ham, lomo and Manchego cheese, beautifully complemented by a sesame tuna tartare.
Entrées-wise, I like the Velouté de Poisson at €14.50, a creamy fish soup served with langoustine and snacked gambas. Seafood enthusiasts will revel in the Sélection La Frégate, which includes Linguine à l'encre de seiche (squid ink linguine) with various toppings like Saint-Jacques sauvages and gambas, ranging from €20.00 to €26.50.
La Frégate also offers several curated menus, such as the Menu Frégate at €45.00, which offers Noix de Saint-Jacques façon Rossini and Filet de bœuf Sauce Morilles.
Then, for a big blowout, Le Clocher seafood platter, at €67.00, offers a lavish array of oysters, langoustines and half a lobster.
