San Vicens Restaurant Review

San Vicens Collioure Restaurant Food

I wanted to include one of the beachfront restaurants since many people dine at them, so I wanted to feature what I think is the best restaurant of those beachfront restaurants: San Vicens – a French fish restaurant with a Catalan twist.

Restaurants on Collioure’s beachfront don’t really have to work very hard and often you’re paying for the view rather than the food. But, the view is to die for and it’s a great spot for watching the world go by and people watching, as well as enjoying some seafood and crisp white wine.

Here's a list of some standout dishes:

Tartare de Saumon façon San Vicens: A classic salmon tartare with generous amounts of herbs on top.

Moules gratinées à l’aïoli: That old favourite - mussels based with golden crust and lots of aioli.

Anchoïade Colliourenque Maison Desclaux: A tribute to local produce, this anchovy dish is rather well done by San Vincens.

Duo Calamars & Gambas en persillade: Squid and prawns are enlivened with garlic and parsley and capturing the spirit of Catalan planxa cooking.

Filet de Daurade royale & Gambas: Offering the best of the sea, this dish features royal bream and prawns in a delicate balance of textures and marine flavours.

Magret de Canard sauce Banyuls: Duck breast bathed in local Banyuls sauce – you really can’t go wrong with this dish every time!

Parillade de la mer: A generous assortment that includes sea bass, tuna, the catch of the day, squid, prawns and mussels - a seafood lover's dream.

Zarzuela du San Vicens: A luxurious stew, or 'zarzuela', brimming with fish, shellfish and the essence of the Catalan coast.

The ambiance of San Vincens, with its casual yet sophisticated decor, mirrors Collioure’s blend of tradition and cosmopolitan flair and proudly carries the torch of Collioure's culinary heritage.
